Technology Infrastructure
A division of Wells Fargo Technology, Technology Infrastructure team is accountable for enterprise-wide infrastructure technology across the Wells Fargos global footprint. We partner as one team across all of WFT to deliver simple, safe and sound, innovative and integrated IT products and services. Infrastructure platforms and services are foundational strategic enablers that underpin our company goal to satisfy our customers financial needs and help them succeed financially. The Position
The position of Engineering Sr. Manager of Data Center Engineering -- will provide leadership for one of the most critical Network Engineering aspects within the Enterprise Network Services organization, the Enterprise Network Data Center. This senior leader will report directly to the head of Network Engineering Services and will lead a team of approximately 30-40 Network Engineers that are transforming the Network Data Center by introducing a software defined infrastructure. This senior leader will need to be highly technical while also demonstrating business management leadership experience.

The Data Center Network is the internal network highway supporting the underlying corporate connectivity needs of the Wells Fargo Enterprise, including:

* Data Center LAN distribution
* Compute & Storage Environments, including cloud computing
* Mainframe Out of Region Data Mirroring
* Global Backbone Core Infrastructure
* Network DNS Services

This role will work closely with other Data, Voice and Transport Engineering Teams, Infrastructure Architecture, Product & Project Managers, Business Analysts, & Data Center Management to understand business requirements for scoping, planning and executing projects within the Data Center and DMZ areas and other supporting network areas.

This leader will be accountable for safety and soundness disciplines such as, lifecycle, asset management, patching, drift, configuration management, etc. This leader will also be accountable for the development of long term strategies to meet evolving network demands to support Compute, Mainframe, Consumer, and Data Center environments, including: Software Design Data Center, ISP Access, business to business access and aggregation, Private Cloud, Big Data, Security, etc.

The outcomes for this leader will be to ensure the Enterprise Network Data Center environments exceeds internal customer expectations in terms of availability, capacity, safety and soundness, latency and performance.

Responsibilities:

* Provide leadership and manage staff of Engineers -- Responsibilities includes hiring, coaching, professional development and performance management
* Develop strategies to improve network performance, while also providing Tier IV operational support. Lastly, this leader will be accountable the financial budgeting and planning of the Network Backbone, including total cost of ownership, internal unit cost distribution, depreciation, maintenance, etc.
* Manage Finances related to backbone including, annual forecasting and budgeting, hardware maintenance & depreciation, internal unit cost, etc.
* Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and strong dedication to the success and on-time delivery of projects and releases
* Responsible for developing and implementing processes improvements
* Responsible for establishing and measuring Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), metrics, and overall performance
* Responsible for partnering with Infrastructure Architecture to establish product, solutions and topology roadmaps supporting the backbone
* Ability to analyze current Network Topology, Wide Area Networks and Enterprise Backbone, build business cases and manage capacity models supporting the Wells Fargos backbone
* Establish and maintain engineering design guides, playbooks, etc.
* Establish standards, processes and best practices for Team development
* Accountable for lifecycle, asset management, patching, drift, capacity planning and configuration management
* Manage and reduce risk including Preventive and Corrective actions, security plans, etc.
* Provide leadership for complex Tier 4 Operational issues partnering with Network Operations
* Provide Change Control/Record support

Required Qualifications
* 7+ years of technology engineering experience
* 6+ years of leadership and people management experience in a technology environment
* 5+ years of experience with strategic planning in technology
* 7+ years of WAN (Wide Area Network) experience
* 7+ years of experience working in a large enterprise network organization
* 5+ years of data center experience

Desired Qualifications
* Ability to negotiate, influence, and collaborate to build successful relationships
* Knowledge and understanding of network infrastructure systems (routing, switching, load balancing, or firewalls) and internet technologies
* 5 + years of technology vendor management experience including hardware, software or professional services
* Knowledge and understanding of telecom: technology environment
* Experience managing managers

Other Desired Qualifications
* Excellent communication (oral and written) with ability to communicate at multiple levels ranging from technologists to senior managers and executive leadership.
* Basic knowledge of Layer 1 Transport and Optical manufactures, products, services
* Experience and/or understanding of the following networking routing protocols: BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, MPLS, Multicast
* Working knowledge of software defined solutions: SDN, SD-WAN, SDDC, and NFV
* Strong commitment to diversity and inclusion
* Demonstrated experience in coordinating across multiple teams and matrix management is critical
* Ability to effectively drive and lead change in an organization with Wells Fargos size, scale and complexity
