Clinical Performance is charged with effectively implementing, monitoring, and executing on programs related to driving affordability, clinical quality and risk adjustment activities across all lines of business for OptumCare a ~$9 billion a year organization, touching over 9 million patients, 80 payers, and 22,000 providers.

This position will report into the Associate Director of Risk Adjustment Content & Documentation. You will be part of a team of technical writers who write Risk Adjustment content for operational processes, CMS announcements, and user documentation for our risk adjustment product. The team's responsibilities range from writing reference documents to creating tutorials and documentation, product development, and executive leadership presentations.

You will work with the Risk Adjustment Operations, Legal, Compliance, and business partners to identify critical documentation needs and create engaging, accurate content. The ideal candidate has business writing and documentation experience, outstanding people skills and a demonstrated ability to deliver purposeful writing that conveys relevant information to the reader in a clear, concise and effective manner.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Create effective, purposeful customer-facing materials, business writings, and business process documentation
* Listen, document, and organize business partners' and stakeholders' operations, products, applications, strategies, processes, and/or business priorities in order to build compelling business documents that effectively address audience and purpose
* Plan and facilitate Subject Matter Expert (SME) interviews to accurately transform thinking and knowledge into compelling content
* Serve as scribe for key stakeholder discussions and meetings
* Proactively engage appropriate stakeholders, address questions and concerns, make adjustments, and follow up as necessary
* Anticipate stakeholder needs and proactively develop business writing or documentation solutions to meet end users' needs
* Review documents for accuracy, style, readability, usability, scope, format, purpose, audience, content and alignment with established guidelines, templates, and standards
* Support documentation governance including version control, approvals, and review cycle in appropriate documentation repositories
* Maintain knowledge of applicable content/knowledge management systems (e.g., SharePoint, ignite)
* Support the implementation of large-scale programs by documenting processes and identifying best practices to promote and enable efficient processes that benefit business partners
* Manage and maintain communications content using established writing and design templates/standards/guidelines
* Collaborate with applicable stakeholders to ensure effective implementation, distribution and publishing of deliverables
* Evaluate effectiveness of communications
* Support and document cross-functional initiatives and operational controls across Clinical Performance
* Collaborate with other teams to ensure cohesive branding, look, and feel
* Propose solutions and then adapt proposed solutions to new and/or unanticipated requirements and/or information
* Work within documentation intake process to timely and accurately identify escalations
* Develop project plans (e.g., communication plans, implementation steps) to support solution implementation
* Utilize stakeholder feedback and/or process performance information to identify potential continuous improvement opportunities

Required Qualifications:
* Undergraduate degree, preferably in English, communcations, business, or advanced writing degree
* 3+ years of business or technical writing and/or process documentation
* Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Teams)
* 10% travel required

Preferred Qualifications:
* SharePoint
* Experience with Adobe Acrobat
* Experience with Publisher
* Familiarity with document repositories, document management, and/or documentation governance
* Familiarity with AP or Chicago Manual of Style and/or Microsoft Manual of Style
* Familiarity with risk adjustment concepts
* Familiarity with federal (e.g., CMS) and state laws and regulations relating to Medicare Advantage
