Reside within a 50-mile radius of the Kentucky Hatchery/Production facilities. Applicants with previous agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred. Applicants must have at least twelve consecutive months of work experience with the same employer and no additional gaps in employment greater than six months during the last 36 months. If applicant was laid-off, providing eldercare or childcare, the six month gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history criteria will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months. Positive pre-employment references must be obtained by the Kentucky Hatchery/Production facilities.

Schedule: Typically Monday Friday
Hours: 7:00 am -3:00 pm. Averages 40 hours per week.
Work schedule is subject to change based upon season and production needs.
Position Summary:
* This position is responsible for providing general labor in assisting contract shavings crew, observing contract catch crew, cleaning/disinfecting vehicles, modules and equipment, as well as, vaccination, blood pull and movement of all Cobb products serviced by the regional Cobb Grandparent operation. This position is also responsible for following a weekly schedule to distribute insecticides/pesticides. Other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Requirements
* Must have a valid drivers license and be approved to drive a Company vehicle, per the Transportation Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Place and spray vaccinate 16,100 birds at placement at pullet farm. Perform lab sampling on approximately 80 chick boxes (15%).
* Spray vaccinate approximately 16,100 birds at 2 weeks, 6 weeks and 15 weeks of age and
performs 12 and 18 week vaccination; vaccinating approximately 8,400 birds, per day (30%).
* Loads approximately 24 modules onto truck using a forklift, loads approximately 7,500 birds, per day, into modules to move from a pullet to hen farm (15%).
* Must be able to read and write to follow weekly schedule to distribute insecticides/pesticides at GP contract farms (15%).
* Cleans and disinfects modules, vehicles and equipment (15%).
Other Duties, Responsibilities and Activities
* Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. Such as: Properly euthanize weak/ill birds in accordance with company policy, perform routine lab sampling, cleaning QA Facility, doing laundry, picking up supplies, assisting contract shavings crew by pulling hose reel trailer to farm and observing contract catch crew to make sure all Animal Welfare guidelines are being followed (10%).
Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Requirements/Safety
* The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.) Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
* Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. Must regularly lift a stack of three chick boxes weighing approximately 36 pounds. Must regularly pick up birds weighing up to 10 pounds. Must be able to obtain forklift certification. Must be able to bend up to pick up birds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; use hands and fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus. Must have good communication skills to accurately convey opinions and concerns.
* Tools and Equipment: Forklift, power tools, coops and syringes
* Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments.
* Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety goggles (as needed), chemical gloves (as needed) and rubber boots are required. Ear plugs will be used as needed. NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed. Safety glasses are required
