The Tax Provision group is responsible for the state, federal and international income tax accounting (ASC 740) including SEC reporting and disclosures. This team in on the frontline of determining the financial statement impact of transactions and business changes for Disney. The complexity and diversity of the business provide and ever-changing environment with unique and unusual provision ramifications. The opportunity provides continuous growth for motivated tax professionals. The group also supports forecasting and modeling of cash income taxes, tax expense and the effective tax rate.

Responsibilities:

As a dynamic Supervisor inside Disney Tax, you will report directly to the Senior Manager, Tax Provision. You can expect to work directly with other business units external services providers and management on a daily basis. You will be responsible for gathering information, executing SOX controls, preparing workpapers supporting US Domestic Federal and State Income tax calculations. Every Day as a leader in Disney Tax is transformative. You will be responsible for:

* Prepare global consolidation workpapers, account reconciliations and analysis of income tax reserves under ASC 740 on a quarterly basis
* Support the quarterly tax provision and indirectly monthly forecasts, annual and 5 year operating plans and unique transactions (e.g. purchasing accounting, transaction support)
* Responsible for training and managing Tax coordinators and Intern(s).
* Apply tax law and regulations, including US GAAP, including ASC 740 to Disney Tax operations.
* Update and maintain tax provision forecasting models for the Company
* Support the preparation of cause of change analysis (including effective tax rate and cash taxes) for tax forecasts
* Prepare and review the financial statements impact on strategic business changes, tax planning, legislative changes, and more.
* Be involved in data collection, researching and documenting tax accounting positions, recommending processes, resources, and activities to achieve the most desirable outcomes.
* Understand and play a role in the impact on the Disney financial statements with particular attention to the SOX controls around the income tax processes.
* Build internal and external relationships to reach consensus to clearly articulate information needs, technical concepts and owning follow through to gain necessary results.

Basic Qualifications:

* 3- 6 years professional income tax experience
* 3-6 years of tax accounting or compliance in a public accounting firm or equivalent experience in a large corporate tax department
* Work requires overtime during financial close periods
* Ability to identify, analyze and resolve issues
* Strong understanding of US GAAP (ASC 740) and income tax technical experience
* Strong understanding of tax operating processes
* Ability to discriminate between symptoms and root causes
* Good project management skills that lead to successful execution of project plans
* Strong presentation and communication skills (Collaborates and solves problems, maintains communications with contacts and can communicate with stakeholders at the same or higher levels on matters of considerable complexity)
* Significant skill with Excel, Adobe Acrobat and PowerPoint. Must be savvy in working with a variety of tax and financial software, including the ability to mine for data and produce deliverables.
* Ability to complete complex tasks and projects requiring independent initiative
* Must be comfortable with virtual communications and working with geographically disparate groups
* Innovative orientation with a proactive approach to collaboration and problem solving
* Excellent analytical skills and the ability to independently identify and resolve issues

Preferred Qualifications:

* Project Management Certification a plus
* Leadership role in overseeing projects
* Prior experience with ONESOURCE or other tax systems
* CorpTax or OneSource Tax Provision software experience a plus
* SAP or other general ledger experience a plus
* Alteryx, Tableau or other ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) experience a plus

Required Education

* Advanced degree- Masters degree in Tax, Accounting, or Finance, JD, LLM in Tax

Preferred Education

* Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, Economics of equivalent
