Description:
Under the direction of the Nurse, performs sub-professional duties including providing patient care to meet the needs of activities of daily living; operation and maintenance of equipment.Takes and records vital signs and I/Os.Assists licensed staff and physicians as directed within approved standards.Performs other related duties as directed.Assumes the responsibility for meeting the basic needs of all patients assigned.Provides care to a patient population ranging from infant to geriatric, unless otherwise indicated.Works collaboratively with the health care team, is customer focused and strives to meet unit and hospital goals.Provides quality care according to established practice standards and guidelines for the area(s) assigned.Must be willing/able to float to other (comparable) nursing units, as requested/needed. Performs and coordinates the clerical and public relations functions for the unit, as well as coordinating patient services and tests provided by the other ancillary hospital departments; acts as unit receptionist receiving and directing visitors.Assumes the responsibility for correctly transcribing orders on all patients assigned.Works collaboratively with the health care team, is customer focused and strives to meet unit and hospital goals.Provides quality work according to established practice standards and guidelines for the area(s) assigned.Must be willing/able to float to other (comparable) nursing units, as requested/needed.

Education/Other Qualifications:
Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum Experience: Minimum of six months of work experience preferred.
Required Certifications/Registrations/Licenses:CNA, and/or completion of Nursing Fundamentals from an accredited Nursing Curriculum with the intention to complete a nursing degree required.American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required.
