Document Control Supervisor
Job Purpose:
Document Control supervisor manages the activities and personnel of the technical documentation function. Manages the activities of the team and is responsible for staffing decisions, training and development, and performance management of the staff. Uses the MRP system reproducing engineering/manufacturing documentation, such as drawings, bills of materials, parts lists specifications and engineering change orders.
Nature of Duties:
Agile Super User:
* Maintains database integrity by insuring there is a plan for number formatting for each customer that includes Rohs, Customer Code and revision. This includes predicting how to maintain the part numbers so that we can accommodate returns, spare parts and quick turn formatting.
* Responsible for approvals for all E35 Agile users.
* Leads doc control team in organizing ECO/MCO/PDN activity.
* Works with Agile Corporate team on any Agile project (latest, CPNs linking automatically to Oracle EDI).
Change Management:
* Monitors emails and notifications from all customers and make assignments for actions of implementation.
* Works with Program Management/Customers to gather all required information including but not limited to costed boms with AVL, drawings, data files, RoHS CCofC forms. May require self downloads from Customers PDM systems.
* Implements the most complex ECOs saving the straight forward ECOs for staff.
* Maintains Google Doc log of all changes that are submitted to E35.
* Maintains ECO Access Database and PDN Access Database.
* Strategizes ECO implementation to find best fit of customers actions into E35 Oracle system and Plant standard practices.
* Researches Manufacturers orderable part numbers to determine if AVL changes requested by purchasing are due to packaging or need to be approved by the customer.
Doc Control:
* Makes all customer documentation available to Engineering Support team
* Supervises staff responsible for all PN creation, BOM releases, AVL updates, BOM component yields, EOL/PCN monitoring, implementation and updating of customers, Oracle updates (Lead Times, Labor times, other Item Attributes, EDI tables, RoHS holds, Serialization).
* Ensures staff maintains SOPs on SanminaNET, providing controlled copies of customer drawings to receiving inspection and production floor (maintains distribution in an Access Database).
* Creates reports using Oracle Discoverer to review Oracle data such as labor, item attributes, EDI cross-references and rankings, cost, receiving inspection flags, etc.
* Acts as E35 contact for S3K audits.
Quoting:
* Serves as the backup for Quote Engineering when staff has been on leave or vacation.
* Makes required updates and improvements to the quote model.
* Maintains quote request log to keep track of open and closed quote requests.
* Organizes and directs Engineering staff when large quote packages require inputs from many engineering areas.
* Ensures labor times in ERP matches quoted times to maintain margin integrity.
Education and Experience:
* Bachelors Degree
* Minimum 2 years doc control experience
* 2-5 years of supervisory experience
* Must have the ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings
* Must have the ability to plan, create and revise manufacturing projects with the use of advanced engineering tools.
