Description

Accounting Clerk positions are located throughout the Lake Charles Refining site. Office Employees positions provide bookkeeping, record keeping and clerical services to numerous functions at the site, including procurement, inventory control, payroll, accounts payable, shipping, mechanical dispatch and systems, SAP data, planning/scheduling, Excel quality assurance and CAPS/CCDT. These positions are represented by the United Steelworkers International Union.

Responsibilities May Include

* Converting properly approved requisitions for materials/services into purchase orders. Involves working with internal stakeholders, category Leads, external suppliers, warehouse personnel, contract specialists and corporate procurement support

* Procuring, expediting, handling and delivering materials for the on-going operations at the site.

* Running various daily reports and processes in SAP, such as mechanical schedules, payroll or buying reports

* Creating, maintaining, auditing and validating data and reports within various SAP modules

* Communicating and dispatching manpower and equipment needs. Track and reconcile hours worked by maintenance and operations employees for payroll purposes.

* Processing invoices for payment.

* Accounting for inbound and outbound refinery products.

* Maintaining regulatory documents and other records per established record retention policy

* Analyzing inventory status to recommend proper disposition of assets.

* Assisting Planners by issuing work plans, cost and schedule reports, and work orders.

* Ensure proper recording and storage of data for the Excel QS system and shipping.

* Executing transactional processes and reconciling transactions on a daily basis

* Reporting accurately and timely.

* Must be able to work flexible hours.

Position Requirements

Basic/Required:

* Legally authorized to work in the United States

* High school diploma/GED or higher

* Must be able to work flexible hours

* Willing and able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC). Information can be found at https://www.tsa.gov/for-industry/twic

Preferred:

* Bachelors degree

* Proficient in SAP MM, PM, and SAP Material Catalogs

* Working knowledge of Workforce Software

* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with emphasis on Material and Service PO Creation and Reporting

* 3 or more years of experience working with procurement buying/contracts and creating SAP POs

* 3 or more years of clerical/administrative or accounting related experience

* Working knowledge of procurement policies and internal control standards

* Advanced Accounting and Math skills

* Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize in a multi-faceted work environment

* Ability to communicate effectively, contribute effectively in a team environment, and is customer oriented

* Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills

* Strong communication skills

* Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

The Lake Charles Refinery is located in Westlake, Louisiana. Refinery facilities include crude distilling, naphtha reforming, fluid catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrocracking, hydrodesulfurization and delayed coking units. Facilities also include a specialty coker and calciner. The refinery processes a mixture of light to heavy, low- and high sulfur and low- and high-acid crude oils. It receives domestic, Canadian and other foreign crude oil through truck, pipeline, marine transportation and terminals, including the Beaumont and Clifton Ridge terminals and the Bayou Bridge Pipeline. Lake Charles produces a high percentage of transportation fuels. Other products include off-road diesel, home heating oil, feedstock for our Excel Paralubes joint venture, specialty graphite petroleum coke and petroleum coke. Refined products are distributed in the southeastern and eastern United States by truck, rail car, barge or pipelines and exported to Latin America and West Africa.
