Requisition Summary

Peterbilt Motors Company, a PACCAR Company, has immediate openings for 2 full time positions in Denton, Texas. This internship will be located in our Manufacturing plant where interns will be exposed to loud noise, dust and paint fumes. Students who are studying Quality Control, Operations Management or Engineering are encouraged to apply.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

This position will assist in implementing projects to improve overall product quality performance. The job also includes assistance in Continuous Improvement Efforts focusing on; Departmental Quality Supplier Improvement Projects, Ergonomic Improvement Projects, Line Balance Optimization and Improvements in Overall Departmental Efficiency and Defect Reduction and Warranty Projects.

* Study, and analyze plant assembly processes
* Development and document plant assembly processes
* Develop Training Materials to include process documentation, visual aids, videos, or other training materials as assigned
* Flexibility to address special projects as they arise
* Assist in continuous improvement efforts focusing on:
* Quality Improvement Projects
* Data Collection Efforts
* Root Cause Analysis
* Development of Error Proofing Methods
* Six Sigma Projects

Skills / Competencies

The candidate we seek will be currently enrolled in an Engineering Program or Business/Operations Management Program and have completed their Sophomore year of College.

* Excellent technical, verbal, written and presentations skills.
* Proven problem solving skills are required.
* Ability to work in a self-directed environment is preferred.
* Must be flexible to work portions of day and evening shift.
* Be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
* MS office, specifically Excel and Power Point
* A 3.0 GPA or higher is preferable.
* Experience or Class Room Training in Statistics, Quality Control, PFEMAs and Operations Management preferred.
* Work will be performed in a Manufacturing Environment with extended exposure to noise, dust, paint fumes etc.
* Work may also be performed at offsite locations.
