Growth Process Steward

The Growth Process Steward (GPS) in Corporate Innovation is an ideal role for a candidate with high initiative to work with a multifunctional set of leaders in business, marketing and technology. This role will report directly to the Growth Process Steward COE Manager and will support one of Eastman's business aligned growth portfolios.
Job Responsibilities Include:
Process Manager:
Stage Gate and Check Step organization, scheduling, facilitation and ensure expectations are met
Ensure Gatekeeping Team operating principles are documented, communicated, and followed, recommending improvements as needed
Documentation and communication of critical decisions and action items in meeting minutes for all Gate Review, Check Steps and Portfolio Reviews
Idea to Concept Process management and coordinator of reviews/timelines
Management of project information in TPS such as project financials, file management, and moving projects through gates at appropriate times
Plan, facilitate and/or lead ideation sessions as needed
Facilitate Performance Agreement development and approval process

Portfolio Management:
Organize and maintain Portfolio through tracking of metrics, goals, dashboards, budget and milestones.
Ensure Process dashboards are correct and are utilized in reviews and by management.
Facilitate the budgeting and planning process by monitoring project spend and project forecasting
Provide metrics and other portfolio analyses to upper management /leadership teams
Contribute to quarterly portfolio reviews at gatekeeping team, develop unique analyses as needed
Facilitate improvement efforts for Corporate Portfolio Management
CTF Aligned Efforts:
Management of project/platform information in the Corporate Technology Fund (CTF) Database
Facilitate scoring of projects and programs using the Corporate Innovation Prioritization Scorecard
Utilize Corporate Innovation Portfolio Management Tools to provide standard data for project portfolio analyses at Gate Reviews or Portfolio reviews, as well as other meetings/events as needed

Coach/Mentor:
Develop EBME and Idea to Concept experience to enable coaching of project teams
Ensure projects go through the appropriate process (Stage Gate, Non-Stage Gate). Help project teams and gatekeepers determine which gates are appropriate for each project based on experience. Guide Gatekeeping team on gate appropriate topics and ensure operating principles are followed.
Determine project readiness for Gate review. Ensure project teams have the deliverables needed for each stage of a project and the work is done to the expectations of the gatekeepers. Shape gate reviews with project team to help drive successful choices/decisions.
Assist project teams with determining which functional resources are appropriate to work on the project.
Coach teams on completing Idea to Concept forms appropriately.
Act as a focal point for Stage-Gate process feedback; recommend process improvements to Corporate Process Steward.
Participate in Growth Process Steward COE and bring best practices and opportunities for improvement to light.
Qualifications

Bachelors Degree or higher in Chemistry or other Scientific Discipline or MBA - Required
3-5 Years Experience, with 2 Years of Eastman experience - Preferred
Strong Microsoft excel and data management acumen - Required
Familiar with EBME/ StageGate process - Preferred
Must be able to manage their time independently, work proactively with peers and management, and have the ability to influence people at all levels without having direct authority.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Strong networking skills and cross-functional communication
