What youll achieve

This role is crucial to shaping front-end technical solutions for the larger design and customer sentiment team and standardizing them across the company. As Director, you will be responsible for hiring and training teams of UX engineers to build accessible and high-quality components for consumption by other engineering and design teams. In addition, you will bring knowledge and research to leadership regarding front-end technologies and solutions across experiences and product lines. Expertise and leadership in UX technology a must, and the role will be a direct report to the Vice President of Dell Digital Design.

You will

Strategize and lead front-end engineers focused on a centralized Design Language System. Proven experience in interactive UX technologies to help create products that inspire and delight. Directors must discover, understand, and communicate the engineering and design context to business stakeholders and other engineering teams as well as build an effective platform for shared DLS resources. Key Responsibilities:

* Inspiring, mentoring and leading front-end engineers to build accessible, inclusive components that support the design language
* Provide thought leadership through internal/external presentations and asynchronous communications, research and
* Lead an evolving strategy and execution against a larger enterprise roadmap

Essential Requirements

* Minimum 12+ years experience; at least 5 years in leadership
* Expertise in JavaScript frameworks such as React, AngularJS, etc. and a deep understanding of the basics of these frameworks and their lifecycles. Extensive working knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, web components
* Administering and maintaining source control systems, including branching and merging strategies GIT and shared artifact management
* Deep knowledge of UI optimizations and performance
* Understanding of network layer, HTTP, HTTPS, cookies, SEO, local storage
* Portfolio or examples of work product

Desirable Requirements

* Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Cognitive Science or similar field - software engineering
* Experience building innovative front-end technology solutions in either start-up or corporate environments, ideally in mobile design, IoT, inclusive design, and accessibility
