ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop, implement and drive utilization of key quality systems such as, Food Safety & HACCP Plans, Oracle, Document Control, Consumer Complaint tracking & trending, Conagra Performance Systems, SAP, etc.)
* Support implementation of all food safety, food quality, and sanitation programs and ensure compliance to Conagras Food Safety, Quality and Sanitation policies, procedures, and specifications
* Ensure effective food safety and quality training for QA team members and plant staff
* Ensure delivery of safe, quality products in a sustainable manner and with minimization of risk to the manufacturing facility and organization
* Support the manufacturing facility in meeting food safety and quality objectives, goals, strategies, and measures
* Provide risk management strategies in support of manufacturing facility innovation, commercialization and productivity projects
* Ensure food safety and quality individual and departmental capabilities including hiring and on-boarding, trainings, and other growth and development opportunities
* Support growth and expansion including key projects and integration related activities
* Support continuous improvement in internal GMP, Food Safety, and Quality Management System audits and support the manufacturing plant in effective closure of identified gaps
* Maintain a safe working environment
* Ensure adherence to the QA department annual operating budget
* Plan and execute special projects as requested by the Plant Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance
* Position will be responsible for direct reports
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
* Minimum of five (3) years of experience facilitating plant quality assurance programs, plant level food safety and food quality assurance programs and working with corporate quality assurance programs, required
* Good Manufacturing and Sanitation Practices experience required
* SQF and HACCP/FSMA Food Safety Plan experience required, PCQI certification is a plus
* Experience with food manufacturing regulations (FDA and USDA) required
* Demonstrated hands on project management experience
* Experience working with and leading diverse and cross functional teams
* Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge, is a plus
* Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization
* Strategic leadership skills
* Ability to train, coach and mentor staff
* Ability to effectively influence seniors, peers, and subordinates
* Auditing skills
* Working knowledge of food microbiology risks
* Ability to use innovative approaches to resolve complex problems
* Strong computer skills, including a proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word
* Ability to analyze data and information, and to make effective and timely decisions. Ability to work with others to identify opportunities for improvements
* Ability to work under pressure and to react to situations with a strong sense of urgency
* Solid problem solving, project management, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
* Ability to listen and consider all ideas while working in a team environment
* Managing and budgeting; plan on budget spending and maintain waste elimination posture
* Ability to develop a high performing team
EDUCATION:
* Bachelors Degree in Food Science or a related discipline such as Chemistry, Biology or Microbiology, required or equivalent experience.
TRAVEL:
* There is a 10% travel requirement for the position

Incumbent must have the ability to effectively perform all of the following physical demands without assistance:
Occasional travel including flying to all parts of the U.S. and possibly overseas.
Regularly required to walk, talk, sit, stand, climb stairs, write, type, push, and pull.
Occasionally lift/carry up to sixty pounds.
Exposure to manufacturing environments for periodic extended work days to include: loud noise, excessive heat, cold, wet, and slippery conditions.
Walking and/or standing for long periods of time.
Driving a company or rental vehicle for up to six hours as needed.
