Boeing's Material, Processes, and Physics (MP&P) Team is seeking a Mechanical Fasteners Engineer (Level 3) to join the team in Mesa, Arizona. This position is for someone with theoretical and practical experience in industry and aerospace applications. The person in this role will collaborate and support engineering design, production floor, procurement and suppliers to define requirements and qualification approvals for tools, equipment, materials, parts and processes used to build the AH-64E Apache attack helicopter. This role is mainly conducted in an office setting, however, occasional work travel is approximately 10%, as well as occasional work in production with our customers.

Position Responsivities:

* Provide design engineering and production floor support for mechanical fasteners and industry standards

* Provide part modeling support, work on material substitutions and process improvements

* Familiarity with Boeing, industrial, military and/or commercial specifications and standards is required

* Produce specifications and other documents to define requirements and manage the use of materials, parts, tools and processes in aerospace production

* Maintain compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations. Promote standardization across multiple business activities

* Evaluate emerging technologies for potential application to new and existing platform needs

* Manage test and audit programs to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements

* Conduct analysis to characterize performance or determine reasons for failure of mechanical fasteners

* Identify and implement corrective and preventative actions

* Work under general direction

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret clearance Post Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

* Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

* 5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

* Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering

* Experience in mechanical fasteners

* Experience working in the aerospace industry

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Relocation:
