Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

* Under limited supervision, plan or re-plan wells as required
* Prepare initial planning for direction and horizontal wells
* Prepare anti-collision analysis using ellipses and tool errors model
* Input, calculate and validate surveys on a daily basis
* Generate a plan view and graphical presentation of the directional profile
* Support field personnel when required
* Complete end of month activity logs and end of well reports - actual versus proposed
* Conduct all business activities in accordance with BH HSE policies, Legal Compliance requirements, and BH Core Values.

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Associate degree or High School Diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of relevant Well Planning or Application Engineer experience.
* Experience with well-planning software (Compass, WellArchitect, etc).
* Proficient knowledge of product line and proper application of tools.
* Proficient in the use of computer-based programs related to the application of products.

Desired Characteristics:

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
* Thorough understanding of torque and drag, downhole hydraulics, and rig operations
* Proficient use of computer-based programs related to the application of products
* Knowledge of directional and horizontal drilling, wellbore positioning basics
* Experience with BHA modeling and design
* Strong mathematical, problem solving, and analytical skills
* Good communication skills both verbal and written
