As stewards of Allstate's reputation, the Corporate Brand department works on many fronts to improve and protect that reputation while creating advocates for the Allstate brand. We on the Storytelling team do our part by helping communication partners and leaders across Allstate engage and influence our stakeholders through powerful, targeted storytelling.
One way we do that is by using stakeholder research to determine what kind of stories we need to tell and how we should tell them. We use data and insights to empathize with our stakeholders and communicate in a way that resonates with them - and helps us achieve our goals. Another way is by helping to make sure everything we communicate is part of a single, clear, compelling storyline - about who we are, what we do, where we're going and why.
Key Responsibilities
Storytelling team members draw upon exceptional skills and talents as writers, editors and strategic thinkers to ensure communications to our stakeholders:
* have an authentic voice
* approach topics from the audience's perspective
* are easy - and enjoyable - to read, see or hear
* avoid corporate jargon, canned messages and buzzwords
* don't force the audience to connect dots, decipher lingo, trudge through messaging, hunt for relevant information or memorize lists and labels
* make sense in the context of our brand narrative
* represent the best way to tell the story to achieve an audience outcome
As part of our work, the Storytelling team manages Allstate NOW, a publication housed on our intranet that serves as the primary communication vehicle for employees. This includes not only content development and logistics, but also ongoing work to evolve editorial processes and strategy

a thick skin for the inherent complexities of a corporate environment
proven success in project management and unwavering dedication to consistently hitting deadlines
a solid reputation as a dependable and enthusiastic team player who can just as deftly work independently
