Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Brand Strategy and Experience Design (BSXD) is responsible for the sophistication, strategic evolution and expression of the IBM brand and sub-brands in every experience and encounter, internally and externally. We represent and support all IBM businesses horizontally and vertically. Our work crosses nearly every category of output: research and strategy, communications and content development, symbology and systems, digital and physical experiences, tools and training. Our global goal is to maintain modernity, tangibility and understanding of the IBM brand in the world.
Role:
We are looking for an accomplished marketing and communications professional to be part of the IBM Brand Strategy and Experience Design team. The Senior Brand Strategist is responsible for designing and implementing brand strategy to build awareness and advocacy around IBM brands. The Senior Brand Strategist will work across IBM business units and functions to create and refine overall approaches to best position, name, differentiate, activate and express IBM offerings. He/she will execute on strategic brand plans that will build and enhance the IBM brand around the world through creative brand planning and execution.
Responsibilities:
* Tightly collaborate with IBM brand, product, digital and portfolio marketing leaders, and internal and external design resources to lead planning and strategic thinking across all touch points.
* Think analytically, critically and logically to help teams develop simple, integrated and elegant approaches to complex brand issues.
* Help teams advance and manage their brand plans within and across portfolios, with an eye on competitive positioning, target audiences, brand attributes, portfolio architecture and their collective implications on branding and naming IBMs offerings.
* Establish, implement and continuously refine our teams standards and methods for brand strategy, brand development, naming, navigation and other forms of expression, codifying knowledge and processes.
* Help craft a truly end-to-end method and set of standards that address elements of brand strategy, all the way to actual brand experiences.
* Act as an influencer, counselor and strategic thinker within IBM to maintain brand integrity, excellence and relevance at the market category/functional, product family or offering levels and across multiple channels, including all forms of IBMs digital and print media and related experiences.
* Help team manage day-to-day brand strategy inquiries and requests spanning such as naming, logo requests, visual identity guidance, ingredient branding, acquisition branding and divestiture branding.
* Serve as a brand consultant with IBM teams to ensure IBMs principles of brand strategy and architecture inspire and inform strategic, operational decisions and actions about our brand across functions, geographies and business units.
* Develop global strategies, programs and assets for key senior executives and IBM brand advocates that can support local geography programs and activities.
* Stay abreast of branding, marketing, communications, and product trends and issues, best practices and case studies to enhance our knowledge base of the BSXD discipline.
* Build ones own eminence in Brand Strategy.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
* Bachelors degree
* 8+ years strategy leadership experience
