Job Description:

* Performs comprehensive nutritional assessment upon initiation of nutrition support within 24 hours of physician's order.
* Consistently demonstrates the ability to keep up with patient workload and uses support staff in an efficient and cost conscious manner.
* Is responsible for the completion of all assigned work procedures during the shift without interference in the quality of work performed.
* Consistently demonstrates a willingness to help on work that needs to be done; willing to stay late and finish patient care responsibilities.
* Continually strives to make the best use of time during the shift through a careful coordination of daily tasks, and shows the ability to recognize and deal with priorities in proper order.
* Demonstrates a consistent level of performance; avoids periods of extremely high activity and very low activity.
* Consistently displays verbal ability to utilize Hospital and dietetic terminology.
* Reports any problems with patients or staff to Director of Food and Nutrition.
* Consistently follows proper lines of communication as established by the Hospital.
* Always obtains food preference from patient's family whenever possible if the patient is unable to mark his/her own menu.
* Consistently keeps accurate and appropriate records as required, including RD Patient Care Log.

Qualifications

* Bachelors Degree Required
* Masters Degree in Dietetics and Nutrition Preferred.
* Registered with American Dietetic Association Required
* Licensed in State of Florida
* One (1) + years experience in Healthcare required
* Working knowledge of technical information and terminology from physicians, supervisors, medical records, reference books, manuals and labels.
* Current knowledge of medical nutrition therapy and medical terminology
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate staff
* Strong supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills.
* Demonstrate flexibility in dealing with internal and external customers and staff
* Ability to communicate on various levels to include management, client, customer, and associate level.
* Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department
