Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates to deliver our innovative products. The Data Center Global Facility Operations Support team is seeking a technically minded Business Strategy and Planning (BSP) Analyst to support data center cost and schedule metrics analytics and development, contracting and vendor selection strategy, and capital planning. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to work closely with our data center business partners to develop the right metrics, analytics and to focus on developing best practices for data aggregation, developing analytical models and dashboards, and analyzing operational KPIs. You will play a key role in analysis and reporting key findings of anomalies, inefficiencies and business risks in the critical facility infrastructure space using analytical rigor to drive insight, alignment and identify opportunities. You will be expected to think critically about Facebooks data center operational costs and schedules and process complex data sets and workflows into actionable strategies. Excellent communication and analytical skills are a must. This is a position on our Infrastructure Data Center team and is located in our Fremont office.
Business Strategy & Planning (BSP) Analyst, Intern Responsibilities
* Create quantitative models reporting schedule and cost trends across the data center space, automate data collection, develop and maintain analytical models, and generate reports and dashboards that measure the performance of Facebooks data centers
* Work cross-functionally to define the problem statement, collect data, build analytical models and make recommendations
* Communicate with management and key stakeholders on project status and risk
* Develop best practices for reporting, analytics, and generation of key metrics
* Analyze data to identify trends that drive data-based decision making for the business
Minimum Qualifications
* Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment
* Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a Bachelors or MS in Engineering, preferably Industrial, Mechanical or Electrical
* Experience with mission critical operations, or organizational budgets/finance
* Experience with Tableau, Excel and SQL
* Strong Analytical skills and data mining/analytics experience
* Superior Communication skills
* Experience defining projects, collecting requirements, and coordinating efforts to scope, schedule, and forecast spend
* Hands-on experience analyzing and interpreting data, drawing conclusions, defining recommended actions, and reporting results across technical and non-technical groups
* Exposure to vendor/subcontractor management, budget/finance planning and/or capital projects planning
Preferred Qualifications
* Intent to return to degree-program after the completion of the internship/co-op
