Job Summary
* A Lab Analyst is responsible for understanding and conducting tests in accordance with the Quality Assurance System and approved test methods.
* Work schedule is a rotating 10-hour shift and requires working days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
* Jobs are located at the Billings Refinery, Billings, MT.
Primary Job Functions
* Operate Billings ExxonMobil Refinery Quality Assurance Laboratory instruments and computers
* Understand and follow the Laboratory Quality Assurance System and Data Handling Guidelines
* Work within the ExxonMobil Quality Practices & Guidelines Program and Data Integrity Assurance Framework
* Follow all established procedures (ASTM, AMS, AASHTO, etc.)
* Complete and report routine and non-routine testing in a timely manner with acceptable completeness and freedom from error
* Perform routine troubleshooting activities involving laboratory test methods and associated instrumentation as qualified
* Adhere to Corporate Policies including ethics, safety, and quality
* Attend QA/Safety Staff meetings
* Keep QAL Supervisor informed of non-routine test results or equipment problems
* Complete assigned calibrations
* Assist in sampling of products
* Change out compressed gas cylinders
* Handle sample bottles and cylinders
* Be familiar with laboratory instruments and be able to use them as appropriate
Job Requirements
* High School diploma or equivalent
* Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
* Willing and able to have flexible work hours, able to work overtime, and be available for callouts
* Willing and able to follow all laboratory and refinery safety rules
* Possess valid drivers license
* Able and willing to work both independently and in a team environment
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
* Minimum of 15 semester hour credits of college level Chemistry or equivalent laboratory experience
* Previous experience in safety
* Laboratory Quality Assurance is a plus
