Summary:

This position is responsible for designing sheet metal and wood parts for manufacturing.

Essential Responsibilities:

* Work with Design Manager and customer service personnel to assist with sheet metal design
* Manipulate existing SolidEdge and SolidWorks models into new configurations
* Design parts and assemblies, various materials around defined manufacturing capability
* Including, though not limited to sheet metal, wood, weldments, mechanical/electrical locations, understanding hardware, considering fitment of refrigeration components for case construction
* Work with other departments to provide technical support
* Candidate must be a motivated self-starter and possess strong attention to detail
* Assist co-workers where needed
* Able to prioritize and multitask when faced with requests, demands and deadlines
* Able to respond to heavy workload when necessary
* Good communication skills
* Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications / Requirements:

* 2-year Associates Degree in Mechanical Design and Drafting required.
* Demonstrated ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams and other technical drawings.
* Knowledge of case construction
* Computer skills beyond a basic level: Microsoft Office, SolidEdge, SolidWorks and PDF creator
* Ability to efficiently schedule ones own time and activities to establish a course of action for handling multiple jobs and priorities
* Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team

Desired Characteristics

* Demonstrated understanding the safety standards and quality expectations.
* Demonstrated understanding of raw materials and the manufacturing process.
* Advanced software experience given preferential consideration
* Two year degree required
