Oracle's Global Business Units (GBUs) provide best-in-class products and services to the communications, construction and engineering, food and beverage, financial services and insurance, health sciences, hospitality, public sector, and retail industries.
The GBU Application Engineering Services team defines, builds and supports common services that GBUs use to deliver their products and services.
We need a talented, multi-faceted shared services Architect who has the vision and expertise to collaboratively lead shared services activities. You will define common software infrastructure services and best practices for use across GBU SaaS services. Specifically, you will be responsible for driving development and uptake of shared application services including authentication / authorization, provisioning and automation, SaaS service extensibility, application integration, and other key cloud technologies. A successful candidate will have a passion for driving common approaches in cloud technologies to GBU Development teams across the world.
Your work will vary from day to day. In a typical month you might -
- Research and define new shared service architectures
- Collaborate with GBU architects
- Brainstorm with individual development teams
- Meet with technology providers
- Develop cross-organization communities
- Prototype new services / capabilities
- Present to stakeholders.

Qualifications & Previous Experience
10+ years of full stack development experience.
4 + years as an application architect or similar role.
Ability to lead teams in framing and solving difficult problems.
Ability to work efficiently on several initiatives and projects at once, often with ambiguity and varying timelines.
Ability to produce software architecture and designs that can be implemented by other teams.
Extensive experience with enterprise application services and cloud technologies such as Java, RDBMS, Containers/Kubernetes, Serverless Computing, authentication / authorization, integration, etc.
Extensive experience with cloud native applications and micro-services architectures.
Experience defining, writing and supporting reusable and maintainable services and API's.
Experience with modern, cloud focused development work flows.
Ability to produce software architecture and designs that can be implemented by other teams.
Ability to architect highly available and scalable solutions.
Experience in one or more of the following domains: BI / Analytics, ML, Digital Assistants, Application focused Infrastructure Services (search, monitoring, etc.).
Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills.
Masters or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Suggest and justify product directions within approved directions. Define responsibilities for new projects and specifies, designs and develops software according to those specifications. Provide consultative software guidance and strategic direction associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Acknowledged expert/professional within company and/or industry nationally and internationally. Provides leadership in the development and strategic direction of new products, processes, techniques. Acts as primary consultant on large projects that effect the organization*s long term objectives / strategy. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 10 more years of software engineering or related experience.
