The primary objective of the procurement organization is to support the growth of Global Mile inbound and export programs by building and managing global contracts, negotiating commercial agreements, and strategically managing vendors and their performance globally.
We are looking for a results-driven Procurement Strategy Manager for our team. You will own the management of global supply chain contracts, including the supporting functions of vendor purchase order creation, management and alignment of contractual and commercial terms, and managing contract renewals, amendments and updates to contracts in a vendor management platform. You will also support in financial analysis during sourcing events or renewals. You may also participate in supplier management KPI and procurement reporting, negotiations of key contractual terms, and configuring tools for sourcing events.
The ideal candidate will be an analytical leader with procurement experience in complex, international, or technical environments. The individual needs strong communication skills and the experience to influence and support cross-functional stakeholder groups across all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate takes initiative and demonstrates ownership in driving business goals, while being agile to manage change in a rapidly growing division.
Responsibilities:
Manage procurement contracts for inbound and export parcel business for the Global Mile team.
Manage contract renewals, amendments, Master Transportation Agreements, and Work Orders for suppliers across the globe
Provide Global Mile leadership with visibility and key terms of all global vendor contracts
Achieve cost savings through projects including bidding and commercial negotiations
Build relationships with project stakeholders including legal, tax, risk management and various business stakeholders that enable the procurement organization to provide global support including facilitation, project tracking, risk escalation and best practice sharing for all global contracts
Develop and implement unified tools and information systems to support project planning, execution, reporting and decision-making of Global Mile inbound air, 3PL and export parcel contracts
Develop mechanisms and metrics to track supplier performance related to forecasting, delivery, quality, and cost
Support the creation of supplier scorecards to measure and track supplier performance
Facilitate business reviews to discuss best practices and issues and to ultimately improve supplier performance and strengthen business partnerships across the world
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree
5+ years experience in a transportation procurement organization performing vendor management, contract management, or bidding
3+ years Logistics, Transportation, or Supply Chain management experience
Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners to overcome obstacles and deliver results
Experience working with fast-paced teams in an ambiguous environment with pressing near-term goals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including to both product and executive level leadership
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MBA/MS/JD or Equivalent business or supply chain-related discipline
5+ years in contract management or direct procurement experience
5+ years in the global logistics industry with experience with cross-functional teams in a global environment
5+ years of advanced Microsoft Excel skills or analytical skills
Track record of delivering sustainable and consistent cost saving projects.
Supervisory or management experience
Proficiency in Data management systems, CRM and Business Intelligence tools: Tableau, Project Portfolio management tools, Salesforce, SharePoint development, MS SQL, etc
