The Microbiology Assistant performs a variety of duties to assist in the daily operation of the Laboratory. This job will include planting cultures and preparing slides for staining in the Microbiology section of the Laboratory, loading the blood culture analyzer and other laboratory tasks as appropriate
* Planting Microbiology specimens
* Preparing slides for Microbiology Staining
* Receiving Microbiology specimens in the LIS
* Collection of Blood, and disposal of Hazardous Waste
* Assisting in receiving area of Lab
Performs other duties as requested.

* Medical Assistant training preferred.
