Job Description

As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will manage first shift operations for the Distribution Center for PPG Architectural Coatings. If you enjoy a fast paced work environment, and possess a high energy leadership style, then this may be the opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide a safe and healthy work environment for all employees through effective management processes. Ensuring each associate understands and adheres to all company policies and procedures regarding safety, health, environment, and that the accurate training programs are in place to ensure that all applicable standards are met including total compliance with all DC Standard Operating Procedures.
* Ensures the elimination of health hazards to prevent work stoppage and time loss due to accidents, while ensuring adherence to all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations, standards and policies.
* Encouraging a continuous improvement of individual associate performance, ensuring PAP goals for the DC are met or exceeded, and that we meet or exceed all service, quality and cost control requirements.
* Assist in the facilitation of regular team meetings to improve the communications between shifts and teams.
* Ensure that the shift meets or exceeds all training requirements for Federal, State and PPG regulatory law, policies and procedures and the EH&S annual training matrix.
* Monitor weekly and monthly productivity (Picking Rate) by shift associates.
* Ensure that daily/weekly time reporting requirements are met. Review and approve in Kronos system.
* Coordinate PPGs relationship with 3rd party staffing provider, working to ensure seasonal coverage needs are met.
* Provide back up to the Distribution/Warehouse Manager in their absence.
* Flexible work schedule to work overtime, weekends and holidays as required.
* Ability to work with all levels of management, internal and external to PPG, customer and vendors.
* Support Employee Engagement, and 5S processes and continued improvements.

Qualifications:

* 3 years minimum distribution or manufacturing work experience required.
* Previous supervisory experience with strong leadership skills preferred.
* Bilingual English and Spanish strongly preferred.
* High school diploma required. A bachelor degree in business administration, management, logistics, supply chain, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
* Successful completion of the PPG Supervisory Assessment Center is required.
* Previous experience managing forklift operators preferred.
* Must be open to relocation within North America to be considered for future advancement opportunities.
* Excellent judgment, decision-making, and strong verbal and written skills are required.
* Digital literacy: WHIMS, RF Scanners, Microsoft Excel & Office at a minimum. Previous SAP experience preferred, other WHIMS system experience a plus.
