The Senior Analyst will be responsible for analytics around Northern Trust’s capital adequacy and capital management activities, including the annual capital and resolution plan, regular BAU activities, and various ad-hoc projects. The Senior Analyst will interact and build relationships with partners outside of the Capital and Resolution Planning team to form strong analyses which have broad impacts across the organization.
Support the completion of Northern Trust’s annual capital plan.
Evaluate regulatory and internal requirements around capital adequacy/ CCAR.
Gather and aggregating data; conduct financial analyses.
Prepare presentations, supporting template requirements and completing documentation of processes and results.
Conduct a range of financial analyses with both internal and external data, which may include topics in corporate finance and capital adequacy.
As subject area expert, provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to team and partners at a high technical level.
Role is balanced between high level operational execution and development, and execution of strategic direction of business function activities.
Knowledge:
Analytical and problem-solving skills required to evaluate financial results and projections across all financial statements.
Effective written and verbal communication skills are necessary to present relevant information to senior management and business unit officers.
Strong personal computer skills and analytics tools usage (Power BI, SQL, Excel, Word and PowerPoint) are required to perform analyses and communicate financial information.
Strong accounting (GAAP), reporting and financial analysis usually acquired through an advanced degree program or related work experience is required.
Experience:
7+ years relevant experience in financial or related industry is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required. Advanced degree or industry recognized credentials (e.g. CFA, CPA) is preferred.
