Job Summary
This senior level support position assists with discovery, coordinates with internal and external stakeholders, manages deadlines, oversees litigation holds and preservation requirements, prepares legal reports, maintains legal files and supports company legal counsel.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Creates files and initiates legal holds for new matters in accordance with department procedures
Maintains and updates files and calendar of case deadlines related to assigned matters in a timely manner
Assists with discovery obligations, including coordinating discussions between internal and external stakeholders, identifying and collecting relevant documents, and managing discovery deadlines
Assists in managing outside counsel relationships
Manages invoices as assigned
Investigates facts and researches issues as assigned
Monitors legal holds for compliance and updates as needed
Assists with preparing reports
Assists in preparing for hearings, trials, and depositions
Drafts correspondence for attorneys
Performs other duties as assigned

Law firm litigation experience
Advanced knowledge of legal terminology, court rules and procedures

Knowledge of oil and gas exploration and production operations

Education
Minimum: High school diploma or GED
Experience
Minimum: 5 - 8 years related work experience
