Job Overview:

The Sales & Use Tax Compliance Assistant position requires a commitment to meet state-imposed deadlines which may at times require over-time. Regularly balances multiple priorities.

Primary Responsibilities:

Review and distribute tax notices to responsible analyst, assist in researching and gathering support, where needed.

Assist with assembling audit backup including calling customers for certificates, finding contracts, and tracking down invoice copies.

Handle new registrations, name/address changes on registrations and business license/registration renewals.

Respond to Tax Exemption Certificate requests and taxability inquiries.

Assist in Preparing indirect tax compliance including sales and use, excise, business, and other regulatory returns.

Ability to work in a fast paced, team dynamic environment.

Assists the Sales Tax Compliance analysts as needed.

Other duties and projects, as assigned.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Tax, Data Analytics preferred.
1 year experience in an Indirect Tax department.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), including pivot tables and VLOOKUP’s.
Strong Verbal and Written communication skills.
Highly organized.

Other Preferred:

Experience using Vertex O or Q or similar tax software.
Experience with Vertex Returns or similar tax software.
Knowledge of Vertex ECM or similar exemption certificate software.

Salary:

Pay commensurate with experience. Open to salary range $63,375 - $92,950.
