Description
Accounting/Finance employees will begin their ConocoPhillips career in Midland, Texas. Job description and responsibilities will vary depending on the first job assignment.
The Finance organization in Midland has new hire positions in Planning, Economics, Financial and Performance Analysis.
Responsibilities may include:
Providing accounting, business analysis, and decision support to operations and management. Typical duties could include consolidation, analysis, and presentation of monthly production and cost results, or coordination with Asset and Finance teams to generate deliverables on a timely basis or working with economic models and performing economic analysis.
During your first year, you will attend the Finance Onboarding Program which is crafted to acclimate new hires to the company and culture. The program consists of short training sessions led by experienced Finance professionals within the company, introduces concepts of upstream oil and gas operations, and provides insight to the differentiating strategy of ConocoPhillips. The curriculum provides new hires with an overview of career development concepts and early career training and seeks to promote a team environment and establish early networks.
After a minimum of one year of experience in a Finance position, you will be eligible to self-nominate for the Employee Development Program. This program is crafted to provide the participant understanding and knowledge of ConocoPhillips and the energy industry and to help you accelerate the development of skills in informal leadership, communication/knowledge sharing, change management, and networking/teambuilding. Exposure to emerging technology and the innovation life cycle is another critical component of the program.
Basic/Required:
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer and/or education institution
Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, other business related field, or foreign equivalent
Current level in college: Senior or Graduate Student
Expected graduation date: Fall 2025 through Spring/Fall 2026
Preferred:
At least 9 hours of Accounting upon graduation
Willing to work in either of these locations: Midland, TX
A minimum cumulative and major GPA of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
