This job is a member of the Payroll Operations Team within the Finance Division
Responsible for auditing, balancing and timely reporting of payroll tax information to regulatory agencies

What you'll do

Audits, balances, and reports payroll taxes on a pay period, quarterly and annual basis
Reviews payroll data (either payroll processing data or payroll deduction reports, depending upon area of focus) for accuracy and facilitates corrections when needed
Supports payroll processing teams for tax related issues
Provides support for payroll tax related reconciliations and reporting
Ensures accurate and timely payroll tax reporting and payments for both in-house and third party payroll tax vendors to all tax agencies
Process improvements for large and diverse multi-state payroll operation
Analyzes, resolves and explains technical payroll-related questions requiring knowledge of the payroll systems
Prepares data for multiple sources as needed for issue resolution and/or reporting needs
Compiles information, researches issues, and contacts tax agencies in regards to payroll tax audits and tax agency notices

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field or equivalent experience/training
3 years' experience with multi-state reporting in a large-scale payroll processing environment

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

Working knowledge of federal and multi-state payroll tax regulations
Demonstrated ability in working with large-scale complex mainframe applications, computer data retrieval systems and PC applications
Knowledge of internal controls
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc
