Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Rounds on staff and patients to ensure patient care needs are met to ensure quality, safety, and patient experiences.
Prepares work schedules to provide adequate coverage while complying with budgeted FTE requirements.
Assists/leads performance improvement and process improvement activities on the unit. Assures staff knowledge about targets and actions to meet them.
Monitors and completes timecards for appropriate times and keeps overtime to a minimum.
Evaluates the competence of personnel to assure that the staff maintains their competency to perform duties promptly, accurately, and proficiently.
Maintains unit readiness for regulatory inspections.
Collaborates with the Manager/Director in assuming responsibility for the department to meet regulatory guidelines.
Assists to stabilize patients and intervenes as necessary to support RRT process by proactively identifying potential safety concerns.
Attends all required safety training programs and can communicate the departments responsibility related to general safety, departmental safety, job related hazards and national patient safety goals.
Effectively communicates, while maintaining confidentiality and utilizing appropriate channels, with staff, patients, families, medical staff, and the Department Director.
Keeps Manager/Director/CNO well informed about significant issues, events, or concerns.
Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:
Current RN licensure required
Three years minimum job-related experience required
RN, Registered Nurse, Supervisor, Leadership, Oncology
