Job Description

The Quality Engineer II works with and contributes to a set of methodologies, processes, and principles that help a product team establish, maintain, improve and achieve a high level of quality for its product. The Quality Engineer II is responsible for testing portal-based applications, with a focus on authentication and identity management tools such as Okta, SSO, and MFA, is highly desired due to their relevance in modern security practices.  Starting with the initial product concept through the development stages, a quality engineer is involved; ensuring the product created has the highest level of quality without defects. How You'll Spend Your Time

• You will participating in scrum ceremonies to understand user stories contributing to a high-quality user experience.
• You will be planning, developing, and documenting new test cases or updating regression tests based on provided user stories.
• You will be maintaining traceability between tests and associated user stories.
• You will be executing test cases for new functionality and regression on banking and financial software products across various environments and platforms, including mobile devices (iPhone/iPad, Android) and web browsers (Safari, Chrome, Edge).
• You will be scripting and executing API service endpoint validation.
• You will be querying databases using SQL to perform data validations, conduct services testing and triage defects.
• You will be troubleshooting, documenting, and effectively communicating issues/defects with specific information to facilitate incident replication for line of business and development partners.
• You will be performing routine updates in incident and test case tracking systems like Jira and Zephyr Scale.
• You will be assisting in maintaining up-to-date test procedures, cases, schedules, reports, and environments for the QE lead.
• You will be collaborating with the scrum development team to ensure code releases deliver maximum business value and minimize operational interruptions while adhering to the targeted release cadence.
• You will be seamlessly collaborating with offshore teams through meetings, tools, and formal communication channels.
• You will be assisting with urgent deliverables, critical production deployment validation, hotfix testing, and offshore meetings, even outside normal business hours when requested.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Information Science/Information Technology or related field of study and/or 4-6 years of directly related experience in Quality Engineering and/or Quality Assurance or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Hard Skills:

Required:

• Proficient in multiple Windows, Mac and mobile device operating systems
• Basic knowledge of MS SQL
• Proficient in API testing
• Knowledge of development branching strategies
• Basic knowledge of Jira and Confluence
• Experience with JavaScript / TypeScript
• Knowledge of BDD Gherkin
• Basic IDE experience

Preferred:

• Knowledge and experience with Agile methodology
• Experience using LLMs such as Microsoft Copilot or ChatGPT
• Basic knowledge of Launch Darkly
• Experience with executing scripts and directory navigation using terminal commands
• Experience with Zephyr
• Experience with Gitlab
• Any basic coding language experience

Highly Desired:

• General knowledge of Accounting, Financial or Banking concepts
• Mobile technology experience
• Basic knowledge of CICD, AWS, Dev-Ops
