Job Description

About the opportunity

Dayforce is seeking a Vice President of Commercial Operations to lead a high-impact team that enables profitable, scalable revenue growth across our global business. This role will own and evolve our Quote-to-Order ecosystem, overseeing critical functions including Deal Desk, Deal Management, Commercial Deal Structures, Contract Management, and CPQ systems. Reporting to the SVP of Revenue Operations, this executive will lead a team of approximately 30 professionals, partnering cross-functionally to streamline how we sell, price, and close; ensuring speed, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

The Commercial Operations team serves as the bridge between go-to-market strategy and sales execution. This organization plays a pivotal role in designing and enforcing the commercial frameworks that accelerate deal velocity, improve financial discipline, and reduce operational friction. Whether it’s structuring complex enterprise deals or scaling high-velocity transactions in the mid-market, this team empowers our salesforce to win with confidence.

What you’ll get to do

Lead and scale a 30-person Commercial Operations team, including:

Deal Desk: Supporting sellers with deal structuring, approval workflows, and compliance to accelerate revenue and reduce friction.
Deal Management: Architecting commercial frameworks that maximize margin and minimize risk.
Contract Management: Overseeing design and development of custom terms where standard agreements don’t apply.
Strategic Engagement Services: Partnering directly with enterprise sales and customers to navigate complex negotiations.
Quote-to-Order Programs: Driving automation, process improvement, and system enhancements across CPQ and adjacent tools.

Serve as a customer-facing executive, occasionally engaging directly with clients to finalize strategic and complex commercial agreements.
Act as a delegate for CFO-level decisioning on commercial risk, discounting, and non-standard terms.
Partner cross-functionally with senior leaders in Sales, Finance, Legal and Product to deliver a seamless, compliant, and high-performing commercial engine.
In partnership with Offering Management and Technology teams, design and drive continuous optimization of Quote-to-Order processes, balancing speed and scale with strong financial and SOX controls.
Define and manage KPIs and operational reporting to measure team impact, deal health, and sales productivity.
Champion a high-performance, high-accountability culture, developing talent and driving engagement.
Lead cross-functional strategic initiatives that improve sales efficiency, drive revenue predictability, and enhance gross margin.

Skills and experience we value

12+ years of progressive experience in Commercial Operations, with 5+ years in executive leadership roles
Deep expertise in Quote-to-Order, CPQ platforms (e.g., Salesforce CPQ, Revenue Cloud, Apttus), pricing strategies, and commercial packaging
Proven experience in fast-paced SaaS environments, balancing enterprise complexity with mid-market scale
Demonstrated success negotiating complex deals, building approval frameworks, and partnering with Sellers, Finance and Legal teams
Strong systems and process orientation; experience leading implementations and integrations of CPQ, CLM, CRM, and other commercial systems
Data-driven leader with strong analytical and strategic thinking skills
Excellent executive communication skills; comfortable presenting to C-level stakeholders and board members

What would make you really stand out

Experience leading Commercial Operations through organizational change (e.g., centralization, scale, M&A)
Track record of building and developing high-performing, engaged teams
Background in Revenue Operations, GTM systems, CPQ
Passion for scaling process, technology, and policy to support rapid growth
Comfortable managing high-volume, high-velocity workloads in dynamic environments
A builder's mindset: driven to improve, challenge the status quo, and create durable infrastructure for long-term success
