Job Description

What You Can Expect

Your daily responsibilities begin with accessing tasks via SCADA, Maximo, or various SAP software systems and repairing, troubleshooting, and fulfilling technical repair work orders for solar panels. You will manage documentation, update parts inventory, and as well as submit on-site status reports, including daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, and initiate work orders for equipment repairs.
Coordination of high voltage switching activities with local utilities and independent system operators (ISO), which includes tasks like substation operations, equipment lockouts and grounding
Adhere to safety protocols such as conducting Site-Specific Orientations, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and safety meetings
While you will primarily work independently on-site, there will always be a nearby technician for safety support; the site's team comprises of a site manager, a Balance of Plant technician, and the solar technician. You will also be a part of an on-call rotation for outages and emergencies; therefore, you must reside within 50 miles of the site.

What You’ll Bring

Minimum two (2) years diploma in a technical program where you have learned AC/ DC electrical theory, understand reading blue prints and schematics, industrial electrical equipment including breaker, disconnects, transformers, contactors
Minimum two (2) years of experience in Solar generation sites, Wind generation sites
Manufacturing or Mining operations, or Controls & Industrial Maintenance
Must have or be willing to obtain certification by AVO as substation technician within 12 months of hire date
Capacity to be on call as deemed necessary by supervisor

Additional Details

This is a field position requiring daily travel to client site(s)
Must be available to travel domestically to other solar plants for emergencies and assist with outages
Must possess a valid U.S. driver’s license/clean driving record to drive company vehicle on and around the plant
Must be willing and able to comply with ENGIE’s policy with respect to COVID vaccination and testing
Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
The position consists of 30% work indoors and 70% work outdoors; outdoor work may expose the employee to weather conditions

Compensation
