Job Summary:
Domtar Kingsport is seeking upcoming college sophomores and juniors with a focus in accounting. Seeking students interested in growth development and sophisticated project assignments to join our internship program in 2025.
In our summer internship program, students will be part of a team that shapes the future of innovation in the Pulp and Paper industry. Interns become fully integrated into our mill, work directly with management, and have assigned mentors to maximize the learning experience.
The internship program is 3-4 months during summer semester, requiring 40 hours per week.
Key responsibilities:
Shadow members of the accounting team as they perform their duties.
Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet, performing necessary research.
Manage the monthly tracking of our physical inventory.
Data entry and filing.
Maintain accounting spreadsheets.
Assist accounts payable team with backlog.
Assist with financial report package preparation.
Assist with month-end close.
Perform tasks necessary to prepare for audit.
Review variance reports.
Handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
Respond to vendor and staff inquiries.
Assist on special assignments and prepare ad hoc reporting and analysis.
Required Qualifications/Professional Experiences Years of Experience/Education/Certifications:
Must be enrolled as a sophomore or junior in an accredited program going towards a bachelor’s degree in in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum 3.0 GPA.
Working knowledge in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
