About the Role
As a second shift department manager (1:00 pm to 9:30 pm), you’ll oversee LTL operations in the Distribution Center. Your responsibilities include managing team performance, optimizing processes for efficiency, and implementing cost-saving measures. You’ll ensure adherence to quality control standards, enforce safety and OSHA regulations, and maintain an organized and safe workspace. Additionally, you’ll develop and enforce departmental policies, track performance metrics, and lead your team to ensure smooth LTL operations during your shift, contributing to the overall success of the distribution center.
What You'll Do
Manage Major Function: Oversee key activities such as shipping, receiving, returns, or inventory control within the Distribution Center.
Determine Work Procedures: Prepare work schedules, expedite workflow, and issue written and oral instructions.
Coach and Mentor: Guide associates for improved performance, manage daily labor costs, and ensure all department SLAs are met.
Develop Team: Create programs to retain, train, and develop associates, applying effective communication and motivational techniques.
Customer Service: Handle internal and external customer/vendor issues, ensuring order accuracy and timely shipments.
Enhance Systems: Develop and recommend improvements to systems for better operational efficiency and customer service.
Enforce Safety: Ensure compliance with safety codes and OSHA standards, and maintain sound housekeeping practices.
Manage Records: Reconcile payroll and attendance records, ensuring accuracy in Kronos records.
Perform Additional Duties: Carry out other assigned tasks while meeting attendance and punctuality standards.
What We're Looking For
Bilingual Spanish/English Required
Prior Experience working in a Logistics Distribution Center: Experience with parcel providers and knowledge of logistics processes and solutions is also preferred.
Relationship Building: Ability to build effective working relationships and facilitate group interactions.
Coaching Skills: Experience in coaching others and developing their skills.

Computer Skills: Intermediate proficiency with spreadsheets, word processors, and databases.
Physical Capability: Comfortable transporting up to 50 lbs.
Confidentiality: Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Education: Preferred Bachelor’s Degree or relevant supervisory experience in a warehouse, distribution, cross-dock, or supply chain environment.
