Basic Function
Reporting to the Shop Manager and based in Council Bluffs, Iowa, this role is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all Red Giant Oil Company, LLC vehicles and equipment. This is a non-exempt position, eligible for overtime. Starting pay is $51,800.00 and can increase dependent upon the candidate's prior experience.
Job Duties
Diagnoses, repairs and maintains all aspects of company-owned tractors, trucks, trailers and equipment
Installs hydraulic systems and related components
Performs inspections of all vehicles and equipment as required by the Department of Transportation and company policy
Welds aluminum, steel and stainless as needed
Coordinates offsite/mobile repair, as needed
Orders and transports parts as needed
Completes repair paperwork and documentation
Experience
3-5 years of direct, hands-on experience as a diesel mechanic and/or in an industrial or shop setting preferred however relevant work experience will be considered
Experience moving commercial motor vehicles beneficial
Education
Diesel Mechanic Diploma/Certification or Diesel Technology Degree preferred however a combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered
Knowledge of Cummins Insite software beneficial but not required
Knowledge ABS diagnostic programs Acom, Wabco toolbox beneficial but not required
Class A CDL beneficial but not required

Work Conditions
Up to 10% travel by land and air required. Subject to all weather any varying road conditions. This position works in a shop setting with exposure to fumes, petroleum products, fuels, anti-freeze/coolant, Freon; heat and open flame; moving mechanical parts; and vibration on a regular basis. There is also regular outdoor exposure during the workday.
