We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold tilt-rotor. 

FLRAA Core Avionics IPT Overview

The Core Avionics IPT is responsible for developing and integrating the aircraft Digital Backbone (DBB), Mission Computer Subsystem (MCS) and coordinating the Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) process. 

The team will perform system and software integration, requirements management, system safety assessment, validation and verification testing in systems integration labs, airworthiness qualification, and flight test of these systems. 

This position is onsite in Fort Worth, TX. 

What you’ll be doing as a Core Avionics IPT Manager:

·       Manage and coach Digital Backbone, Mission Computer architects and engineers to ensure an engaged and skilled team

·       Driving execution of DBB, MCS and IMA systems design, analysis, qualification and integration in the IPT environment

·       Responsible for the technical performance, cost, and schedule for the Core Avionics systems.  Manage Integrated Master Schedule and track cost and schedule performance

·       Coordination with DBB and MCS tech leads, systems engineering, suppliers, supply chain, finance, build, test teams, and the government customer to support execution of program

·       Technical evaluation of suppliers and managing subcontracts including Statement of Work, Specifications, ICDs, RFPs, and schedules

·       Managing DBB and MCS subsystem suppliers in the development, integration and testing of procured systems and equipment

·       Leading Core Avionics IPT through all phases of development from initial proposal development through successful design, qualification, integration testing, flight test, and production

·       Direct design and integration activities, coordinating project deliverables and schedules, and reporting status to program management

·       Identify staffing requirements and build an effective team

Skills You Bring To this Role:

·         Experience with mission systems, avionics, and software development and integration

·         RTCA DO-160, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-254, DO-297, SAE ARP4754A, SAE ARP4761, 14 CFR Part 27 and Part 29 for commercial and military qualification and certification of aircraft systems, and multiple data protocols

·         Creation of system architecture, requirements specifications, interface definitions, and verification plans and procedures

·         Experience with MOSA (Modular Open Systems Architecture/Approach) and FACE design standards

·         Experience with Core Avionics system development and testing in a systems integration lab

·         Aircraft installation, functional testing, and troubleshooting DBB, MCS, IMA or other vehicle systems

·         System engineering and configuration management processes

·         Model Based Systems Engineering preferred – SysML / CAMEO

·         Experience with supplier management is preferred

What you need to be successful:

·         Bachelor’s degree required, major in Electrical, Aerospace or Computer Engineering.   Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered. Advanced degrees will be considered as additional experience.

·         At least 10 years of relevant engineering experience in aerospace industry is required

·         Previous team leadership of direct reports experience is required

·         Experience with project management (EVMS is preferred)
