General Summary:

You will be part of Qualcomm's machine learning inference accelerator card power team in Raleigh, NC. You will be responsible for design and development support of high-quality chipset power validation and integration into hardware development platforms, from initial concept through completion, manufacturing, and sustaining phases of a project.

In this role, the primary responsibility of the individual will be to work closely with hardware design engineers in testing, troubleshooting, deploying, maintaining, and supporting Qualcomm’s platforms.

Conducts analyses to identify, troubleshoot, diagnose, and/or debug technical issues. Applications may include analog and/or digital. Issues raised by users of these platforms will have to be resolved by the individual – either on their own or in collaboration with adjacent teams. Individual may work on multiple issues at any point of time, so, systematic tracking and updating of status is expected. The environment is fast-paced and requires cross-functional interaction daily. Good communication, planning and execution skills are a must.

Minimum Qualifications:

•    High School diploma or equivalent.
•    4+ years of experience with design, development, R&D, or similar experience in Electronics or related area.

Following are the required skills and experience:

Experience in a support role with excellent attention to detail; understands lab environment inside and out. Adapts to significant changes and setbacks in order to manage pressure and meet deadlines.
Ability to understand spreadsheets, schematics, layout, component datasheets, BOM parts list, etc
Ability to debug electronic HW systems; reproduces and debugs moderately complex issues, gathers, integrates, and interprets data and information from various sources and generates test reports with minimal guidance and helps recommend solutions.
Occasionally authors clear/concise board-level rework instructions and guides remote engineers/technicians to implement and verify your rework
Solid ability to operate test equipment – power supplies, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers, protocol analyzers etc. Installs, upgrades, configures, and helps select equipment and/or components based on specifications, tolerances, and reliability is preferred.
Experience in running automated tests, test plans, test cases, and test procedures and ability to perform first-level debug in test / test-environment related issues is a strong plus
Working knowledge in Windows and Microsoft Office required; working knowledge in Linux is desirable
Knowledge of using JTAG debuggers preferred
Strong individual contributor who will work well in a team environment and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
Must be capable of prototyping, reworking, and soldering small electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, inductors, jumper-wiring, etc. in a clean method utilizing conventional lab techniques.

Minimum Qualifications:

4+ years of experience with design, development, R&D, or similar experience in Electronics or related area.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or related field.
Certification in Electronics or related area.
6+ years of experience with digital HW, SW, and/or analog RF troubleshooting and debugging.
6+ years of experience in a lab environment.
