Were seeking an experienced engineer to join our Systems and Infrastructure team.

What you'll be doing:

Maintain a high level of availability and quality of service for Employs family of SaaS applications
Architect, improve, maintain, and automate new and existing systems with a focus on long-term code maintainability and efficiency

Contribute to the technical direction and architecture of new and existing systems
Participate in work planning, provide technical insights and help to break down complex tasks into manageable units of work that are ready to be executed on by the team
Write and maintain software to support the operation, development, deployment and testing of business-focused SaaS applications

Deep-dive into complex problems requiring an end-to-end understanding of the application stack
Apply SRE principles to identify and improve performance, reliability, and security bottlenecks throughout the application

Provide technical guidance via code review, mentorship, and pair programming
Implement and manage Kubernetes clusters to support a variety of workloads
Work successfully as a part of a team and independently
Participate in on-call rotation to handle escalated alarms

What you'll bring:

8+ years of experience as a software engineer, systems engineer, or SRE
Familiarity with networking concepts
Experience with Kubernetes cluster administration and maintenance
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar cloud providers
Experience with configuration management systems such as Chef, Puppet, Saltstack
Experience with IaC tooling such as Terraform and CloudFormation
Experience with CI/CD systems such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions
Experience with relational SQL databases such as MySQL
Knowledge of monitoring solutions like Nagios, Zabbix, New Relic, Rollbar, etc
Strong programming skills with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles
Great communication skills with a willingness to pair/swarm on critical issues and engage with your teammates to solve challenging problems
A passion for continuous learning and improvement

Nice to have:

A strong understanding of web technologies such as REST APIs
Experience with securing systems
Experience with NoSQL datastores and search engines such as Mongo and Elasticsearch
Experience with Windows and MSSQL administration
Experience in Web application development (Javascript, PHP, Java, TypeScript, Ruby)
