Job Description

Contributes to and supports the design, development, and production of effective learning solutions that promote Valero’s business, mission and values. This includes the design and development of visually rich, impactful storytelling Web Based Training (WBTs), animations, Instructor-Led Training (ILT), and other media content.

Serves as department representative on organizational project teams.
Assesses training needs and requirements for projects.
Develops a broad understanding of Valero and Human Resources strategic messaging to ensure consistency across all of our media.
Acts as project coordinator/developer on assigned electronic projects.  Gathers information and develops creative and sophisticated web-based training and communication products using HTML5, and/or Articulate 360 Storyline according to a defined due date.
Creates sketches, layouts, animations, pictures, scripts and illustrations utilizing design software and graphic design as necessary components for the completion of web-based training.
Collaborates with other business units as needed on identifying, researching and developing unique content ideas, stories, and scripts in support of CBTs.
Writes training programs according to standards of professional education using provided data from all business units.
Uses creative and interesting storytelling strategies to make content more engaging while still maintaining the Company’s strategic messaging.
Monitors industry best practices for creating and developing CBTs and other digital communication content.
Contributes to other projects and departmental efforts as assigned.
This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications 

High School diploma or GED required. 
 5 years of professional work experience in training development and/or web-based training required.
 Bachelor’s degree in Media, Business Management, Instructional Design, Education, Computer Science, or Computer Information Systems, or related field preferred.
Graphic design experience is preferred.
Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero San Antonio location, required.
