Job Description
Summer interns provide assistance to the Land Department while gaining valuable experience and insight regarding the inner workings of a Land Department and the Land Department’s role within the upstream oil and gas organization.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Assist the Asset Land team with day to day tasks including:
Assist Lease and Division Order Asset Teams with projects following the standards and procedures required.
Assist with ownership research utilizing both internal and external resources.
Assist on reporting out findings gathered from ownership research.
Assist in maintaining Asset Mineral, Surface and Fee agreements according to the process guidelines.
Work royalty owner hot line desk.
Assist GIS Tech with mapping projects.
Adheres to the company’s values – integrity, ownership, urgency, alignment and innovation.
Supports company vision and mission.
Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings.
Other Job Responsibilities:
Other duties as assigned by management.
Completion and presentation of the experience and advancements learned in the Summer Internship program.
The summer intern will spend at least two to three weeks in the field working with our lead broker in one of Hilcorp’s various leasing or pipeline right-of-way projects. Locations include Texas or New Mexico.
Qualifications:
Previous experience with an oil and gas company Land Department or experience with an independent Landman is preferred but not required.
Previous experience with a Law Firm in a Legal Clerk or Attorney support role is preferred but not required.
Previous experience or knowledge working with Lease contracts for a Real Estate Broker or similar is preferred but not required.
Education Requirements:
Progressively working towards a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management, Real Estate or Energy Commerce.
