Job Objective:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Construction Coordinator to oversee and manage multiple major projects at the Milne Point Unit (MPU) in Alaska. The Construction Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful completion of construction projects from inception to execution. This includes leading project planning, verifying design drawings, creating material requests, tracking materials, and managing proposals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management within the oil and gas industry, with a particular focus on mechanical designs and collaboration with Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Leads.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Lead the construction of multiple major projects at MPU, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.
Verify design drawings for accuracy and feasibility, collaborating closely with engineering teams to ensure alignment with project specifications and standards.
Create and manage material requests, including tracking and ensuring timely availability of materials to meet project timelines.
Send out requests for proposals to vendors and contractors, evaluating proposals to select the most suitable partners for project execution.
Utilize a variety of tools including SharePoint, OneNote, Project for the Web, Excel, Loop OneDrive, and Teams for effective project planning, communication, documentation, and management.
Plan and organize work schedules, coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure efficient project progression and resource allocation.
Work through mechanical designs, providing input and adjustments as necessary to meet project requirements and standards.
Collaborate with E&I Leads and other project team members throughout project execution to address challenges, make informed decisions, and ensure seamless integration of construction activities.
Other Job Responsibilities:
Ability to work a 14/14 rotational shift.
Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed.
Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction management, preferably within the oil and gas industry, with a proven track record of leading and completing major projects.
Proficiency in using SharePoint, OneNote, Project for the Web, Excel, Loop OneDrive, and Teams. Openness to adopting new tools and technologies for improved project management and communication.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and manage work schedules for multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail in verifying design drawings and managing material requests.
Effective communication and negotiation skills, capable of working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Knowledge of current industry safety standards and regulatory requirements, with a commitment to promoting a safe work environment.
Education Requirements:
Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent; or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability, and skill to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
