Specific Responsibilities
Contracting & Procurement Analyst Sr - Contracting for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Supply Chain team at the company’s Houston office reporting to the Global Contracts Manager. This position will have primary responsibility for execution and administration of Master Service Agreements and supporting projects. Collaborate with Legal, Risk, Tax, Audit and other functions to ensure MA clauses remain current and reflect best position. Ensure current, relevant contracts are in place to meet operational demand and facilitate efficient buying process. Ensure documentation and system accuracy while helping develop others within the team.
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
Utilize approved Apache contract templates when available and engage clause owners as required
Maintain appropriate contract files in accordance with document retention policy
Collaborate with Legal, Risk, Audit, and other functions to ensure a consistent approach in contract development and implementation is maintained across the business
Ensure that sound, fit for purpose contracts are developed at the highest standard and to the scheduled requirements of the business requestor
Support the Contracts team in driving towards achievement of all aspects of contract excellence including planning, development, negotiation, execution, and administration of contracts
Maintain compliance with related policies and contracts processes & standards
Contract initiation, negotiation, and execution as requested by system workflow (MDG)
Prioritize and execute contract renewals or negotiations accordingly
Provide support and user testing for applicable system upgrades and enhancements
Develop full understanding of relevant system processes (SAP, Ariba, ISN, etc.)
Become familiar with internal controls designated into Supply Chain processes and systems
Report non-compliance to Supply Chain and business unit management when necessary and provides recommendations where applicable
Participate in continuous improvement and application of new technologies to improve the control and monitoring of the function
Manages special projects at management's direction
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management or relevant Business/Technical discipline.
3+ years of relevant legal experience in contract negotiation.
This position requires a high attention to detail and ability to understand legal contract documents.
Must be able to be productive as a sole contributor but also collaborate often with other teams.
Strong business acumen and ability to communicate complex scenarios to leadership team.
