Job Description

Specific Responsibilities

The Mechanic II for Apache Corporation will be a member of Apache’s Onshore Production Operations team at the company’s Pecos, TX office reporting to the Maintenance Foreman Sr. 
 
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:

•    Responsible for daily operation and maintenance of water station flood pumps, sumps, transfer pumps, “control air” air compressors, and all equipment associated with compressor facility
•    Perform compressor overhauls, take daily compressor station readings and work in a team environment
•    Check for proper operation of all pumps and dump valves
•    Check all fluid levels and operation of lubricators
•    Check air compressors, filters oil levels, belts, pressures and bleed lines
•    Perform visual inspection on all equipment daily, making necessary repairs
•    Accurately record all above information and any performed maintenance
•    Achieve CO2 operations certification
•    Perform oil changes on all equipment in a timely manner
•    Notify supervisor when problems are suspected
•    Order, stock, and label spare equipment needed to keep facility in operation
•    Operate in a safe and environmentally sound manner
•    Stay in contact with vendors for equipment, oils, chemicals, and filters for updated revisions and recommendations
•    Keep facility clean and neat
•    Must be able to drive a vehicle and have the ability to wear respirator protection and personal protective equipment, as required
•    Respond 24/7 to emergency call outs
•    Perform routine maintenance according to manufacturer’s specifications

Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:

•    High school diploma or equivalent required
•    Must have CAT 3516 WPW and ULB engine experience as well as Ariel compressor experience   
•    Must be able to trouble shoot and diagnose engine and compressor problems quickly and efficiently and be able to use the CAT ET program 
•    Must be safety minded and goal oriented with 3-5 years related experience
•    Job is classified as medium physical work
•    Occasionally may be required to lift, carry, push or pull 10-100 pounds
•    Occasionally may require squatting, crawling and climbing
•    Frequently may require bending, reaching above shoulders, reaching to the floor, reading, writing, working at heights and working around moving machinery
•    Frequently exposed to marked changes in weather conditions including temperature and humidity
•    Continuously exposed to dust, fumes and gases
•    Continuously works independently without supervision and requires quick or important decision making
