Job Duties and Responsibilities

As a Core Engineer at DISH Wireless, you will play a pivotal role in the design, development, and maintenance of core network elements that power our wireless services. You will work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, contributing to the seamless operation and evolution of our core network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain core network elements, ensuring their reliability, scalability, and high performance
Continuously optimize core network elements for efficiency and performance to deliver the best user experience
Identify and resolve core network-related issues, ensuring minimal service disruptions
Collaborate with vendors to evaluate, select, and integrate new core network technologies and solutions
Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions to accommodate growing customer demands
Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect core network elements from cyber threats
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and diagrams of core network configurations and changes
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including RAN Engineering, IT, and Operations, to ensure seamless network integration
Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in core network engineering

Skills, Experience and Requirements

A succesful Core Engineer will have the following:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field

Proven experience in core network engineering, preferably in a telecommunications or wireless environment

In-depth knowledge of core network protocols, architectures, and technologies

Familiarity with 3GPP, LTE, and 5G network standards and specifications

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues

Proficiency in network management tools and protocols

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Relevant certifications, such as CCNA or CCNP, are a plus
