About you and this role - What you will do in this role

Dow has an opportunity for an Analyzer Technician located in Orange, Texas within the Hydrocarbons business. This role will support the SR-1 unit, a competitive ethylene cracker amongst the Gulf Coast with a robust pipeline of capital investment. This role serves as a vital resource providing specialized technical support and solutions for daily maintenance and capital projects.

Responsibilities - Duties, projects, tasks, and activities you would be responsible for in this role

Provides technical expertise and support relative to analyzers which includes: ensuring equipment functionality, troubleshooting failures, meeting compliance requirements, supporting reliability improvements, providing technical assistance for project development and commissioning.
Works with the technologist to support technician training and development.
Maintain accurate and thorough records of all analytical equipment calibrations in accordance with site best practices.
Owns continuous improvement of maintenance plans, policies, and procedures.
Capable of reading and understanding P&ID’S, PFD’S, and perform maintenance tasks using instrument loop sheets.
Ability to work overtime, including being available for call out on holidays and weekends as is necessary for the continued operations of the plant per the call out list.

Qualifications - Required education, experience and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves)

A minimum of a High School Diploma and one or more of the following:

An Industry Accredited Training or completed Apprenticeship program.
A minimum of an Associate’s Degree of Applied Science in Analytical Instrumentation or Instrumentation Technology.
3+ years of relevant military experience.

A minimum of 5 years of experience inspecting, repairing and calibrating analyzer systems.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Skills - An expanded list of qualifications that are "nice to have", but not essential

A minimum of 10 years of experience inspecting, repairing and calibrating analyzer systems.
Experience with the following types of equipment:

Mass Spectrometry.
Analytical networking.
Gas Chromatograph.
Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMs).
Moisture Analysis.
Oxygen Analyzer.
