Advanced Project Engineer

Provides engineering support and services through project organization and execution. Increases expertise and proficiency in a technical area, including consolidation of skills learned. Establishes and controls project spending to budget by specifying and estimating project costs. Assumes responsibility of leading medium size engineering projects or participates on larger projects where a team approach is utilized.

As a Project Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Coordinating project timelines, budgets, construction activity, and personnel to successfully complete assigned projects
Defining and executing competitive bidding strategy
Specifying equipment performance and design criteria
Maintaining effective communication with project team, staff, and project owners
Establishing accountability through understanding applicable codes and guidelines to ensure designs meet codes, guidelines, and standards

Your Skills and Expertise 

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
One (1) year of experience in project management in a private, public, government or military environment
Current, valid Driver’s License.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

Possess expertise equivalent to that which would be obtained in a bachelor’s degree or higher in chemical, mechanical, or electrical engineering
Prior experience with webline, extrusion, material handling, automation or inspection equipment

Work location:

Springfield, MO

Travel: May include up to 10% domestic

Relocation Assistance: May be authorized.

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
