Job Summary

This internship position covers multiple functions within the greater Supply Chain discipline. The intern will be exposed to multiple functions within Supply Chain, including: Planning, Strategic Sourcing, Materials Management, Market Intel and Analytics, Procurement and Contracts Management. The intern will also gain an understanding of the underlying importance of compliance that guides our contracted commitments. The role is office-based in Oklahoma City and may feature field-based learning in operational offices.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Evaluates, assesses, and forecasts various factors concerning the supply market; performs statistical analysis on available data
Works with suppliers and the legal team to ensure agreement of commercial terms and legal obligations in an effort to minimize risk
Prepares analytical reports, briefing notes, and correspondence.
Assists with researching and evaluating competitive intelligence, market reports, trade periodicals, sales promotion materials, and any other viable sources of information.
Assists with tracking the performance of the organization’s spend, supply market, cost, and tiers of suppliers.
Identifies high impact cost reduction opportunities in conjunction with senior staff.
Identifies data trends by categorizing, estimating, recognizing differences or similarities, and detecting changes in circumstances or events.
Supports Supply Chain Business Services, SCM Operations, and SCM Strategies and Planning groups as critical internal partners.
Assists with leveraging the organization’s buying power to optimize costs, access new suppliers, reduce lead times, and guarantee supply.
Assists with selecting ideal suppliers based on needs, and uses market research and analysis to support negotiations.
Provides supply market and sourcing advice and recommendations.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Specific Skills

Basic knowledge of commonly used supply chain documents & tools, which may include contracts, forms, graphs, charts, lists, tables, schematics, schedules, reports and financial statements.
Basic knowledge of the supply chain processes that culminate in agreements & contracts.
Basic knowledge of applicable legislative and regulatory requirements.
Ability to think critically and analytically.
Ability to interact collaboratively with stakeholders in the supply chain process.
Ability to make high-level inferences using specialized knowledge.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or pursuing a Supply Chain Management or related degree at an accredited university required.

3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale preferred.

Experience

Previous industry experience preferred.
Previous internship experience preferred.
