FOX Enterprise Media Services department is responsible for ingestion, transformation, distribution of media for linear and non-linear broadcast workflows for all networks wholly or partially owned by FOX Corporation. It is a 24/7 mission critical operation which supports several business units across sports, news and entertainment.

We are looking for a stellar Media Technician who has knowledge and hands-on experience in broadcast processes, systems, and operations. Candidates who seek employment must be available to work 24/7 in shifts. Under general supervision, the position is responsible for entire media supply chain for all assets, both physical and digital file-based assets. This includes ingesting, metadata tagging, validating, archiving, tracking, restoring and delivery of all media
assets supporting our department as well as clients, partners, and vendors.

This position involves maintenance and organization of all metadata associated with various media assets, in order to ensure easy accessibility.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Fulfill media and metadata needs for several internal and external stakeholders such as content creators, vendors, broadcast operations, digital operations, post production, and various studios and post houses via work orders, media asset management systems, file transfer acceleration tools, cloud and on-premises storage, playout automation systems and media service desk, phone, or email
Process media through various media management systems and tag metadata when required. Monitor and process notifications from automated workflow engines, video transcode engines, and analyze QC reports to identify any problematic media that doesn’t meet broadcast specs and advise management and senior staff of issues
Maintain and catalog material into media asset management systems to ensure quick and accurate retrieval of media assets. Manage multiple storage tiers in cloud and on premises and assign lifecycle policies for archival, restoration, and purging of media
Onboard internal and external content creators and clients for media ingestion, these include but are not limited to FOX, Big Ten Network, FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2, FOX Deportes, FOX Soccer Plus, FOX News, FOX Business as well as advertising aggregators and agencies
Create daily and weekly reports providing media status updates
Create schedules and send to broadcast operations to generate 'show not-mades', confirm with engineer that media is available in cloud or on-premises and create missing media lists (2 weeks ahead of air date) of future shows and events for all network clients

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

Must have strong verbal/ written communication skills, and aptitude to communicate with all levels of management
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required
Knowledge of media asset management systems and broadcast workflow orchestrators is helpful
Must be able to perform basic mathematical computations and be able to juggle multiple time zones
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work independently, and be resourceful
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while multitasking with attention to detail, accuracy, and excellent follow-up skills. Ability to touch type a minimum of 25 WPM is required
Must have extremely good organizational skills, customer services skills, and must be able to work effectively under daily time constraints in a face-paced and high-pressure work environment
Ability to work a flexible schedule is required, including nights, holidays and weekends
The position is expected to participate in cross training within the department
