Job Description:

Supervises the plant production function as directed.

What will you be responsible for?

Maintains a safe and secure work environment. This includes correcting unsafe acts/conditions, facilitating monthly safety meetings, writing and modifying Job Safe Procedures, performing monthly safety inspections, and investigating accidents for root cause using Lean tools, as required. 
While the regular working cycle of this position is usually 12-hour shifts, rotating days and nights, this role is expected to be mainly nights (6:50 pm to 7:10 am) on a 2 day on / 2 day off / 3 day on work schedule Monday through Sunday, working hours may vary as specified by management.  Incumbent must be able to work overtime on a regular basis and/or be on call as directed by management
Supervises and coordinates the employees and activities of the department/production function to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and housekeeping standards are met or exceeded.
Engages and connects with team of direct reports to build teamwork and to complete yellow belts and other improvement projects.

Coordinates and applies preventative/productive/corrective maintenance techniques toward monitoring and reducing maintenance and repair costs

What are we looking for?

Broad training in a related field usually acquired through college level education or work-related experience in the can or end making process.
Bachelor's Degree preferred
Job related experience for 2 year(s) minimum
Proficient level skills within MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access
5% travel
Works in both office and manufacturing environments.
This position is exposed to occupational hazards, including but not limited to, high noise levels, physical obstacles, exposure to chemicals, etc.
Must wear appropriate safety glasses, hearing protection, clothing, and footwear in appropriate areas and follow safety practices.

Preferred Qualifications

Lean Manufacturing experience
Demonstrated experience in engaging and developing employees through teamwork, problem solving, and development
