Job Description

Robert Half is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant with terrific organizational skills to take up a short-term contract / contract / temporary position at a growing company. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. During the monthly close, you will hold responsibility over many aspects of internal reporting. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and work alongside our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. Responsibilities

- Maintain fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

- Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

- Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings

- Participate in various department-wide initiatives

- Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision

- Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules

- Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll

- Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

- Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

- Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

Requirements

- Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

- Recent and relevant accounting experience

- Ability to meet deadlines

- Experience with ERP systems

- Seizes opportunities to produce results without direct supervision

- Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

- The ideal candidate will be highly-skilled with exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Spreadsheet and database capabilities

- Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases

- Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks

- Foundational knowledge in Credit Card Reconciliation

- General ledger experience

- Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings

- Hospitality management experience

- Deep understanding of bank reconciliations
